The BIG THREE!

We celebrated my third birthday on Friday!!

Since we went to Disney in October & we're going to North Carolina for Thanksgiving, we decided to have a low key get together with family on Sunday. 

There's was a lot of love in the air!  Mommy & Daddy can hardly believe how big we're getting.

Speaking of getting big, Mommy took me to the doctor for my 3 year well visit on Monday.

My three year stats:

Height: 37" (50%)
Weight: 35# (86%)

I grew 3" & gained 4# since my second birthday.  Based on my current height & my height at my 2nd year visit, the doctor is convinced I'll be at least 5'8" when I'm an adult.  That just blows Mommy's mind since she's barely 5'3"!

5.5 year well visit

Mommy picked me up yesterday & we headed to the doctor so I could be up-to-date with my vaccinations since I'm starting kindergarten this fall!!  I was SUCH a tough guy & handled both of my shots like a champ!  I also had to have my finger pricked so they could check my iron & cholesterol.  Turns out, I'm a bleeder!  My finger took forever to stop bleeding!

I had my favorite "yellow soup," aka broccoli cheddar & slurped it up like a champ!  And since I'm such a nice guy, I volunteered to share my cupcake with Mommy too.  We had an awesome dinner date!

5.5 year stats:

Height: 45.5" (68%)
Weight: 52# (88%)
BP: 92/48

This weekend is my VPK graduation!  I can barely believe how quickly the year flew by!   

30 month well visit

We headed to the doctor last week for my 2 1/2 year old well visit.  Luckily I just had to get a check-up & avoided any shots!  My mom prepped me as we drove, telling me that the doctor was just going to look in my mouth, ears & eyes & listen to my heart.  The nurse would have to measure my head & length which I usually fight tooth & nail.  Well, it was time to get onto the scale & I was not having it!  I wrapped my legs around Mommy's waist & wouldn't let go.  Finally we both got onto the scale & then my mom had to get back on without me.

Surprisingly, I did great for the rest of my exam & even opened my mouth for the doctor before she had to ask.  She thought I was pretty funny & I told her she looked like a princess!  Anyway, here are my thirty month stats:

Height: 36.5" (77%)
Weight: 34# (92%!!!!)

A visit to the doc-tah!

As I slowly woke from my nap at school today, I thought I was dreaming when I noticed my mom standing next to my mat!  She's never had the pleasure of seeing me nap at school and honestly questioned if the whole thing was a farce.  I mean, how can 2 teachers get 27 four year olds to sleep?!  We left & headed to Reese's class since we both had a doctor visit scheduled.  Mommy was not exactly excited to be taking both of us for shots by herself!  It was funny to see her holding a diaper bag as well as my hefty, screaming sister while trying to answer the nurse's questions & fill out paperwork.  The second we walked through the doorway of the exam room, Reese lost it... guess she has negative associations with it!

I had to undergo a hearing test & an eye exam & pee in a little cup!!  When the nurse handed it to my mom as she was holding Reese, she said, "Seriously?  How is this happening?!" as she laughed hysterically.  Mom handed a BALLISTIC Reese off to the nurse & headed to the little boy's room with me & I did a fine job of providing a specimen if I do say so myself.  And I do.  And I did.  We each got shots; Reese 2 and me 1.  Mommy did not know what to expect from my shot since I hadn't had one since I was two years old & much less aware of what's going on.  I did awesome & didn't shed a single tear!  I'll have to get two more shots for Kindergarten next year, but it'll be a piece of cake.

So here are my 4 year & 7 month stats:

Height: 43.25" (76%)

Weight: 46.50# (91%)

BMI: 17.54 (93%)

The doctor was a little surprised to see the sharp jump in Reese's weight between this appointment & her 15 month since she gained just about five pounds in three months!!!  That belly does not lie!  Coincidence that it goes along with her increase in fussiness?  Not likely.  It seems when all else fails, Mommy or Daddy throw some food her way, especially cheese.  Yes, yes, I realize my mom is a dietitian but people get desperate, ya know?  But, they'll cut back on the snacks & all will be well again with my short & stout lil sis!

15 month stats

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw Mommy arrive early at daycare to pick me up.  I was, however, not pleased to see that we were headed to the doctor for my fifteen month well-visit.  Cameron unexpectedly came with since Mommy didn't have the heart to leave him behind at daycare.  We were glad to have my big brother along for the trip though; he's a good guy!

Unfortunately Cam smacked his head as we headed back to the exam room since he was distractedly talking to the sweet nurse who was taking us back.

After cleaning his bleeding wound, he got a bandaid & a Lightening McQueen icepack & ended up feeling much better!

I was more upset about them taking my measurements than I was over the two shots they gave me!

So, how have I grown over the past fifteen months?

Height:  30.5" (50%)

Weight: 23.88# (66%)

Head Circumference: 18.9" (94%)

Here's a link from Cameron's 15 month visit.  He weighed 4.7# more than me, but we're both in the 66% & he was 3.5" taller than me.

In other happenings, this past weekend we sought out a free outing & found that the Tampa Bay Rays were hosting their fan fest.

Uncle Matt, Auntie Kelly & the girls met up with us & Cam & Leah had a great time running the bases!

Samantha & I raided the diaper bag for food as they were running.

Speaking of Samantha, the other day we just happened to go to school in the exact same outfit!  Mommy bought all the girls in the group this outfit for Christmas, but it was funny to see that we matched without planning it.  Of course I was not happy when Mommy set me down to take this picture.  I was scared she was going to turn around & leave me again!

After school, we went out back to look at the ducks & were happy to see them trot up to us, looking for food.  We didn't want to let them down, so Daddy grabbed a bag of hamburger buns & we fed them an evening snack!

And when the mail came, we saw that Auntie Erika sent us Valentine's cards!
 

Despite my two shots today, I've been in good spirits all evening & managed to raid the Tupperware drawer as I so love!

12 month stats

Two weeks ago today I turned the B-I-G ONE!  Yesterday Daddy picked me up to head to the doctor for my one year well visit.

Here are my stats:

Head circumference: 18.11" (74%)

Height: 29" (41%)

Weight: 22.25# (67%)

I'm a short little girl, just like my mommy!  The doctor is very happy with my growth & I'll now be switching to two 8 ounce bottles of whole milk per day from 3 bottles of breast milk.  I'm growing like a little, adorable weed!

 

9 month stats!

Today Mommy & I headed to the doctor for my 9 month well baby visit.  Not only did I have to get two shots but I also had my big toe pricked to check my iron counts (which were perfect).  Ouch!  I'm such a tough cookie though & didn't even flinch to the toe prick & barely cried during the shots.

My growth & development are right on track & the doctor said I'm absolutely perfect.  But Mommy & Daddy didn't need the doctor to tell them that.. they already knew!

So, I've grown 9" and gained 13# since birth..wow!  Click here to see Cameron's 9 month stats.  He weighed three pounds more than me and was 1.5" taller!  It also turns out that he was working on his 6th tooth at nine months old while I'm still sporting a gummy grin!  Every baby is different, eh?

Reese's 6 month stats

Daddy picked me up early from school today.  Here I was, thinking he had something fun in store for us.  I mean, it isn't often that I get out of school early for one-on-one time with Daddy without my brother.

Well, turns out that there were other things in store for me.  Not so wonderful things, either!  We were headed to the pediatrician for my 6 month well visit.  The nerve of my parents to try & keep me healthy!

Anyway, all looked great & I'm growing like a cute, little weed!  I've been congested for what seems like 3 months now.  No exaggeration, either. Mommy & Daddy started to think maybe it was allergies, but Dr. LaCross said that babies don't have seasonal allergies.  And apparently babies also can't get sinus infections because we don't have sinuses like adults.  Learn something new everyday!

Even though it was Daddy taking me to the doctor, Mommy was stressed over the idea of me getting 3 shots.  But of course I handled it like a champ as usual & I was happy as can be tonight.

Here are my 6 month stats:

Head circumference: 17.32" (88%)

Height: 26.5" (77%)

Weight: 16.6# (64%)

So, I've grown 7" since I've been born!  That's nuts!  That's like my mommy going from her current 5'2" to 5'9" in 6 short months!  Us babies are amazing creatures, I tell ya.  I've gained 9.53# since birth which is 134%.  Wow.  I was looking at my big brother's stats & I weigh about 3.5# less than he did at this time & I'm 1.5" shorter.  Click here to check out Cam's 6 month stats.

Easter fun & Reese's doctor visit

Friday Mommy & Daddy got out of work a little early which was so nice! We headed home, hung out & colored Easter eggs.



This was my second time coloring eggs, but of course Reese never has since this was her first Easter. She sat by and watched us & seemed to have a good time... I'm sure next year she'll want to be right in the action with the rest of us!



As my eggs were "taking a bath" I played with the camera & took some pictures. Mommy will upload them for me soon so I can show off my work.



And here you'll see our beautifully vibrant eggs which we just so happened to enjoy as egg salad tonight.



And in other news, Reese had her four month well baby visit on March 28th. It was a little past due since she was sick & we had to reschedule so she was healthy for her vaccinations. So, technically she was four & a half months at this check-up.

Reese's stats:

Head circumference: 16.14 inches (41%)
Height: 25.25" (75%)
Weight: 14.63# (62%)

So, she has grown 5.75" & gained 7.53#. My little sissy is not so little anymore & has more than doubled her weight since birth! Now I'm going to compare my four month stats with Reesey's... Keep in mind, I went to the doctor pretty much right at 4 months so it was nearly two weeks earlier than her appointment.

Cam's four month stats:

Head circumference: 17.72"
Height: 26"
Weight: 17.2#

2 Week Doctor's Appointment

Yesterday Mommy & Grandma took me to the pediatrician for my 2 week well baby visit. The appointment was basically just a weight/length check & I'm doing great!



Stats so far:

Birth: 7#, 1oz
Weight at 3 days old (11/17/11): 6#, 9oz
Weight at 2 weeks (12/1/11): 7#, 9oz (23rd percentile)

Length at birth: 19.5"
Length at 3 days: 19.75"
Length at 2 weeks: 21"(72%)

Head circumference at 2 weeks: 14" (35%)

So I gained a full pound in two weeks time!! The doctor was very impressed with my progress.. I've been eating like a champ & getting plumper by the day!

Two Year Check-Up

Tuesday Mommy had to be the bad guy who took me for my two-year well baby visit. Luckily since I'm now two I can get the flu mist rather than the injection, but I still had to get one other shot.



Mommy kept me entertained with this stuffed giraffe as well as some cars & books she packed. I was happy to be examined by the doctor while sitting on Mommy's lap in this chair, but wanted NOTHING to do with the exam table. I'm so happy to have an awesome doctor that makes me laugh while she does her exam!

But I did freak when the nurse laid me on the table to get my height. No one is going to make me do something I don't want to do without a fight!

Anyway, here are my stats at 25 months old:

Height: 37 inches = 96% (2 1/2" taller than my 18 month check-up)
Weight: 35#, 8oz = 98% (5#, 8oz more than my 18 month check-up)
Head Circumference: 20.47" (0.2" huger than my 18 month check-up)

When it was time for my shot & flu-mist, I cried hysterically as my mom held me down. Mind you, this was before I even got the shot. I was NOT a happy camper when the nurse squirted that mist up each of my nostrils!! But as soon as I was taken off the examination table, all was well & I felt great the rest of the day!

Growing by leaps & bounds!

2 days old here on 9/26/08


Me at 9 months old! Just a tad bigger!


Today I went to see my doctor for my 9 month well visit; Grammy & Auntie Erika came along with me & Mommy. My hemoglobin was absolutely perfect so the doctor could tell that I'm eating a healthy diet and I didn't even notice when the nurse pricked my toe. I also got my last Hep B shot & I barely cried; I am one tough cookie! Oh & I'm getting my 6th tooth!! So much has changed over the 9 months that I've been here & each day is a new adventure for me! I am loving life!

My stats:

Birth (9/24/08):

Weight: 6#, 10oz
Length: 20.5" long

Today at 9 months old:

Weight: 23#, 2oz (84th percentile)
Length: 30" (92nd percentile)
Head circumference: 19.29" (100th percentile)

So, in summary, since I've been born I have gained 16.5 pounds & grown 9.5"!! The doctor said that I can pretty much eat anything that the rest of the family is eating as long as it isn't peanuts, honey, citrus or strawberries. We told her that I ate strawberries this past weekend & she said that it was fine since I'm obviously not allergic seeing as I had no reaction to them. My mommy & daddy will be even more inspired to eat a healthy diet in order to be wonderful role models for me! I plan on having a very well-rounded diet; not just chicken fingers & mac n' cheese (although those things are tasty!)

Cam's Doctor Visit

Cameron went in for his one month checkup today, got a shot or two, and got all of his "stuff" measured. The doc says he's looking healthy, here's the numbers:

Week One Weight: 6 lbs 12 oz
Today: 9 lbs 15 oz!

Week One Length: 21"
Today: 22.25"

He came down with "thrush" which is a yeast infection in his mouth, but it's fairly common and will be fine after some drugs. So far so good!
