A Weekend Away!

I was able to spend time with my grandma who was nice enough to watch me Monday through Wednesday of last week. Then on Thursday we packed up & headed to my grandparent's condo for a weekend away. I was so excited that my mom & dad had a couple of days off of work. And I know they were excited too!

Friday evening my Auntie Lauren & Uncle Gregg came for a visit & then Saturday morning my Auntie Mel came with my cousins. I wasn't able to see my Uncle Mike since he was in Chicago, but it was great to catch up with everyone else.

Hmm, it appears that this cup has nothing left in it.

Oh well, I'll give it a try anyway!

My mom was commenting that she had barely any pictures of me & Auntie Mel so she whipped out her camera when she saw me sitting on her lap. But, apparently I got upset when Maddy decided to jump into the picture. I can be a bit ornery from time to time.

I was able to spend time with my grandpa & we even watched my favorite movie, Cars!

Then Sunday morning my grandparents took us kids to the bird sanctuary.

We had such a great time!

Look at me, I'm the bush man!

And in other news, as of yesterday, I've started clearly saying I love you! You can only imagine how that melts my mommy & daddy's hearts! I've got those suckers wrapped around my little finger!!

Playing with Play-Doh!

As I'm enjoying a nice, long weekend at my grandma & grandpa's condo on the beach, we decided to have some fun with Play-Doh.

I made all sorts of shapes like circles, balls, & my favorite, snakes!

I may or may not have drooled all over my shirt as I made the "ssss" sound of a snake! Hey, cut me some slack, I'm just a one-year old! And so what if I'll be two in less than a month!

I couldn't resist the temptation... I had to give the Play-Doh a taste! Not so bad. But not so good either.

Yay for me, I'm having so much fun this weekend!

Last Month of Being One!!!

In one short month, I'll be turning TWO!!

When my mom & dad ask me how old I'm going to be on my birthday, I proudly shout, TWO!

So, what is the 23 month old version of me up to?

Well, I weigh about 35 pounds. I'm wearing a size 7 shoe. I'm talking more & more & my parents refer to me as a parrot. And I'm even putting words together to form a sentence! My favorite saying is, Not nice! As I wag my finger in a reprimanding fashion. I love big words such as umbrella or helicopter.

I love jumping & I'm able to get both feet off the ground. My favorite past time is opening & closing doors; mom & dad are constantly getting blocked into a room or getting a door slammed in their faces. Not nice, Cameron!

I'm still a very good sleeper & typically go to bed around 7:45 but I don't normally fall asleep until around 8 or a little later. I lay in bed & "talk" & play my music machine until I get to dreamland. I've recently started climbing out of my crib & I've done it twice. The most surprising time was when I actually got out of my crib, walked across the house & went into my parents room & woke them up on Saturday morning.

Time for mom & dad to convert my crib into a daybed!

I make my parents crack up all the time & they often tell me how much of a hilarious goofball I am!

I love to wrestle & I'm proud to say that if my mom is sitting on the floor, I can easily take her down! Aww yeah!

I'm a very thirsty boy & I can slam just about any liquid you put in front of me. I don't always listen very well, or as my teachers at daycare say, You're not using your listening ears! But, I have a very good heart & I love my family, friends & all of my pets.

I had a great time being one, but I'm excited to discover all of the fun things that two has in store for me! Until then, I'll enjoy my last month of being a one year old!

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

The title of this blog post is a little inaccurate as it wasn't cloudy as we headed to IKEA on Saturday & nor was there a chance of meatballs. The meatballs were guaranteed!

My mommy is often trying to come up with indoor weekend activities since the Florida summers are so hot so she thought we were due for a trip to IKEA. For nothing in particular, just to browse around & have a helping of Swedish meatballs. Yum!

We haven't been to IKEA in ten months so it was good to get back. Click here to see my last visit & here to see my first visit when I was only ten months old.

Here's the only picture of Mommy from our trip; she was just peeking in on me as we drove.

I'm a little squinty-eyed in this picture since the sun was so dang bright!

My first time riding on an escalator! Wow!

Daddy was bushed from all of our shopping & needed a little cat nap to regenerate in time for the meatballs. Oh yeah, love me some meatballs!

Look at these delectable balls of goodness & joy!

I got my own bowls of meatballs & mashed potatoes for free! Yep, that's right, kids eat free at IKEA!

Me & my blue shoes were ready to go home after our morning of shopping. I was so ready for my nap!

Just Keep Swimming!

On Saturday we headed to my grandma & grandpa's condo on the beach for a weekend get away. I was like a little fish in the water; I kind of felt like Nemo!

Saturday was the first time I got to experience "water wings" or what we like to call swimmies. I didn't exactly get the hang of them since I kept forgetting to keep my head up & arms down. I sunk like a lead rock if I wasn't being held. But you know what they say, practice makes perfect!

And I was so brave that I was jumping off the edge into the pool. I am a rebel, indeed!

And I'm a lucky lad to have a family that loves me so much!

My grandma kept an eye on me a lot so that my mom & dad could relax & enjoy themselves. Although I'm really not sure how anyone could have a good time if I'm not around. But whatevs.

My grandpa makes me smile!

Daddy was getting me used to going underwater....

And here's what I thought about that!

And after all that swimming, I needed to take a breather!

I absolutely loved watching this huge kite soar through the blue sky. Although if you asked me what color the sky was, I'd proudly say, "yellow!" That's right; yellow is the color word of the week. Two weeks ago, it was blue! I like to keep everyone on their toes!

After we had some fun on the beach, it was time to hose the sand off. Geez, Dad, you don't have to blast me in the face with the water! What gives? But speaking of the beach, check out my mom's blog to see more pictures.

Hope everyone is having a safe & happy summer! I know I am!
