Update on Cameron

Cameron has been sick for the last 2 weeks now, so Mike took him to see the pediatrician on Tuesday. He was negative for RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) & the flu which is great. However, he was diagnosed with bronchiolitis which is very common in babies ages 3-6 months (Cam just turned 5 months) & more prevalent in boys (which Cam also happens to be, in case you didn't realize). It's an inflammation of the bronchioles, the smallest airways of our lungs. It happens more often when your baby is in day care... so, in other words, the odds were stacked against Cam. But, the good news is that he should be better by this weekend. We've been doing 4 nebulizer breathing treatments a day with a med called Albuterol which helps increase air flow to the lungs. He's also taking Amoxicillin twice a day to treat a possible ear infection. The boy has been an absolute champ through all of this; he sits patiently (well, most of the time) during his 40 minutes of breathing treatments daily. So, he will be back in tip top shape before we know it!
